Have you tried with these actions in Xenakios' Extensions?

Btw, that macro won't work properly when you have tracks in tracks in tracks... (subfolders/folders). Try this:

Xenakios insert prefix to track... doesn't seem to work here :X

Sws's reaconsole already has commands for prefix and suffix for tracks but not items.

Remember you can also turn any reaconsole command into an scripted custom action using a text doc in your reaper folder and use this for prefixing a track. The details are on his website. I think I have missed the point here but just trying to help ;)
